My Art Journey From My Mind Update #12

TGIF!

This week I memorized the "mannequin" and learned neck muscles! I still need work on my shading with pencils but I think I am a tad bit better at it.

The neck muscles

And then we did "surface anatomy" on the mannequin

My Art Journey From My Mind Update #11

I'm between jumping for joy and tears of joy. Yesterday I finished the section of the lesson videos #75 to #107 that I learned from 5/20-6/2 in 10 days! Took around 70 hours maybe more. I was learning from 3 to 5 hours in the day and 1 to 3 hours at night. Most weekends I don't get to draw except I did on 5/22 Saturday, but not this holiday weekend.  I've got to spend some time with the family, right? Lol

This is some of what I learned this week.
Head forms for shadow and light. The female face, and the mannequin system.

I'm off to memorize the head forms and the mannequin system before I continue on Monday to section 108 to 143. Woohoo!

Have an awesome weekend!!

Until next time,
~Kirsten

My Art Journey From My Mind Update #10!

Happy Friday!

This week I tackled lessons 87 through 100!

I learned the nose, eyes, ears and lips along with the "forms" on the face.

I'm not allowed to show the templates, which are the forms I learned on about 6 different views of the head, but I can show you the shaded faces I did using those forms. He says we will get better with practice. I hope so!

Thank you for reading

Until next time,
~Kirsten

Journey From My Mind Update #9

It has been a long and tough road to get here, but I have finally finished the skeleton section again, WOOHOO!!!!

Here are my drawings of the back, side and 3/4 front views.

The 3/4 back view I drew 3 times. It still gives me problems on the pelvis but I'm going to keep practicing on it a few times a week until it's second nature.

Now onto the muscles!! Yay!

This is as far as I got on the face  muscles today and hope to finish on Sunday, Saturday is family time. The blank skull is for the review of muscles when we finish learning them.

Until next time,
~Kirsten

PS
Thank you for reading!

Art Journey From My Mind Update 8!

Yay! My finished rough sketch of 3 views of the entire skeleton! It's been a long road having to go through it twice, but hopefully it will stick in the old brain! I'm going to practice of few more times before doing 3/4 views of front and back next week.

Until next time!

My Art Journey From My Mind Update 7!

Happy Friday!

I was able to get the Humerus, Ulna and Radius memorized this week with about 4 hours to practice, WOOHOO!  These are some tricky little buggers with the funny bone here, sharp thing there etc. But I remember it now because the socket bone, funny bone, pointy bone and Ulna are all on the inner side next to the body.

This is today's drawings.....
Left and right Humerus front, back and side view. The shaded area on the back view is for the elbow bone on the Ulna.

Left and right, front and back of the Ulna and Radius with just a bit of the Humerus bone.

And lastly the front and back views of them all together.

My goals for next Friday is to have the hands memorized, and do full skeleton  sketches with everything attached!!

Thank you for looking and have a fantabulous weekend & week!
