How to Change the Interface Color on Adobe Creative Cloud Photoshop and Illustrator

I was so excited when I got my subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud until I opened the new and improved PSCC and AICC for the first time. I panicked  when I saw the UGLY dark background it comes with instead of the lighter gray like previous versions. I was about to cancel my new subscription because......and I don't mean to offend anyone.... I don't like black or dark gray sites! It messes with my eyes so bad and gives me a headache. There was no way I could or would work on something that dark day in and day out.

So I thought to myself, There has to be a way to change this, there just has to be!

So I went to the Adobe forums and found out it can be changed! I'm a happy camper now.

Many of you may have already known this, but for those of you like me who didn't know we had this option, we can change the "background color" or for the technical term, "interface"  of Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.

For those that don't know how to change it, here are some written and visual (I like visual) instructions. (You can click on the photos and they will pop up bigger to view better, then to close, just click on X in upper right hand corner)

For Photoshop:

Open your PSCC, go to Edit ---> Preferences ---> and click on "Interface".

A window will pop up.

Choose whatever color you want your interface/background to be under “Color Theme” and click "OK".

For Illustrator

Open your AICC, go to Edit ---> Preferences ---> and click on "User Interface".
A window will pop up.

Choose whatever color you want your interface/background to be under “Brightness” by using the drop down arrow and selecting your preference and click "OK" .

In AI you can use the brightness slider bar and customize the level if you do not like the options given.

Have a super fantabulous day!

My Art on a T-Shirt, Taren-Archer Warrior Elf Girl is in a Movie!

I am so excited! Last October I had the honor of meeting Jennifer Scott through a non-profit artist group, The indiExhibit, by gifting celebrities, producers, actors and writers etc at the 8th Annual LA Femme International Film Festival. I had a great response from some recipients who received my gift certificates for free custom illustrations. Although my original illustration for Jennifer Scott was a beautiful fairy dancing in a field of flowers that she loved, we talked about my Archer Warrior Elf Girl on another of my stores and she said that would be perfect on a t-shirt for her to wear (I customized the elf with Jennifer’s facial features) in her based on her true story movie she wrote and is acting in called Eyes Upon Waking. She said it will be her trademark in representing her struggle against depression and past suicide attempts.

And since she loves my art, we are collaborating in an effort to fundraise for her upcoming independent film’s distribution for Eyes Upon Waking.

Eyes Upon Waking is based on Jennifer Scott’s true story of dealing with depression that lead to suicide attempts, and her ongoing struggle to conquer depression and “press on” in life. In the movie, Jennifer Scott portrays Taren Foley, the lead character, “who questions her current path in life and searches for a new route to happiness” and “must come to terms with her suicide attempts while spending several days in a psychiatric ward”.

“This is a passion project, told from my heart, about the disease of suicide and how it is misunderstood by society. This film uncovers the darkness in the minds of those who suffer from their emotions, yet shows how light can be found with the right kind of help. Those who are lost to us cannot be returned - I want to bring awareness of what they went through to those they've left behind. It is for any person with a friend or family member who has taken their own life, and is left asking why.” ~ Jennifer Scott

With each purchase of all products from Taren-Archer Warrior Elf Girl and Jen the Dancing Flower Fairy, 70% of my royalties are being donated to Eyes Upon Waking to help raise funds for distribution.

This is a true to the heart short film being produced independently and very much needs to be able to reach audiences everywhere. With your help, hopefully this story can help others find the assistance they need for their depression and increase awareness.

Here are just a few awesome gifts that are available with Taren the Elf Warrior and Jen the Dancing Fairy.
