My Art Journey 4

Helloooo!

Sorry it has taken so long to update! We've had thunderstorms so no computer time since Monday.

I think the updates may have to be once a month while I'm trying to memorize all this, unless I have something new to show from The Magic Box and Schoolism classes, otherwise it may be overly redundant.

Speaking of.....Friday I restarted one of my classes from Schoolism, I tried drawing the frog from seeing shapes again. I haven't drawn with a stylus on my Wacom tablet in so long because of doing anatomy classes with pencil and paper, it felt weird!

I looked at last year's attempt at said frog and it was quite embarrassing!  But at least I've improved, and I think this anatomy class has taught me how to see things better too. So WOOHOO!

Last year's attempt....don't laugh too hard, but it's ok to laugh!

This year's attempt. Much cleaner and more accurate.

I also finished up the upper body memorization on 3/1 and 3/2.

Then we learned about the upper leg/femur. I've got that memorized now.

And added it to the upper body.

I'll be learning the collar bone, bottom of legs, arms, hands and feet and practicing those over the next month.

So until then.....

Have an awesome day and thank you for reading!

My Art Journey From My Mind 3

Hello and HAPPY HUMP DAY!

Not a lot of new drawings to show and I'm still practicing the noggin' , pelvis and body. I think I have wrapped my head around "the head" and how to draw it in more positions other than just side, front and back.

I am getting assistance from the lovely Snow White today.

Have a wonderful week. I hope to update you with something new by next Wednesday!

My Art Journey From My Mind 2

I didn't get as much practice time as I wanted, about a couple hours a day. But I practiced the head and pelvis these past 2 days. I did have to look at my previous drawings I did from when I was watching the teaching videos. I don't know why, but that noggin bit gives me trouble! I think I'm thinking too hard on it. But after a few attempts it stuck in my head. So here is a bit of what I drew yesterday and today.

It is true though, you do have to draw every day otherwise you get rusty.

I'll keep on keepin' on and update you Wednesday.

Have a super fun fantabulous weekend!

My Art Journey Drawing Anatomy From My Mind 1

Hello and welcome to my art journey!

I started practicing drawing different styles of eyes in January 19, 2015 by watching Sycra on YouTube.

These I sketched out Jan 23, 2015 during commercials on Hulu while watching Sleepy Hollow.smile emoticon
I found this hint from DeviantArt to get eyes the same proportion and level to one another (it's hard for me to do) : draw a box and put those eyes in there!

Then I happened upon Alien Think when I searched "anatomy form art" or some such thing. I started on 3/18/15 learning The Structure of Man - Learn to Draw the Human Figure from Your Mind with Riven Phoenix. There's not a lot I can show from most of my drawings because they have "formulas" I'm not to share. But here is the skull and placement of brow, eyes, ears, nose, cheeks, jaw & mouth in relation to one another I practiced on 4/26/15. Now instead of winging it, I can actually draw the head in many different angles much much faster and not be frustrated.

4 months later, after a lot of practice and going through almost a ream of copy paper (I'll buy sketchbooks AFTER I know what I'm doing! )

I have completed the skeleton course section On 8/21/15

and 8/24/15!

I was pretty excited about completing this and moving on along to the muscles section.

Then my phone died! I had all my kitten videos still on there but I also had them on my computer. So I spent a few months uploading photos and videos to Flickr and YouTube and restarted my Anatomy lessons again on 12/24/15.

I was amazed at how much I remembered, but he teaches in the peg memory management way. So only after a few weeks of only drawing an hour a day, going through 19 videos, I was able to whip this up

I'm also using my big computer to watch the lessons on a large screen now instead of my little tablet, and it makes a HUGE difference in seeing things more clearly too.

On 1/25/16 I had gotten this far-up to vidoes 42,43, and 44!

Then I had a custom t-shirt design to finish for a client, update my website and blog and now I'm ready to continue again.

I'm going to be practicing the last pic I showed you (but with the side view completed with ribs) until I know it like the back of my hand. I will update you on Friday!

Thank you for stopping by, have a fantabulous week!

How to Change the Interface Color on Adobe Creative Cloud Photoshop and Illustrator

I was so excited when I got my subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud until I opened the new and improved PSCC and AICC for the first time. I panicked  when I saw the UGLY dark background it comes with instead of the lighter gray like previous versions. I was about to cancel my new subscription because......and I don't mean to offend anyone.... I don't like black or dark gray sites! It messes with my eyes so bad and gives me a headache. There was no way I could or would work on something that dark day in and day out.

So I thought to myself, There has to be a way to change this, there just has to be!

So I went to the Adobe forums and found out it can be changed! I'm a happy camper now.

Many of you may have already known this, but for those of you like me who didn't know we had this option, we can change the "background color" or for the technical term, "interface"  of Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.

For those that don't know how to change it, here are some written and visual (I like visual) instructions. (You can click on the photos and they will pop up bigger to view better, then to close, just click on X in upper right hand corner)

For Photoshop:

Open your PSCC, go to Edit ---> Preferences ---> and click on "Interface".

A window will pop up.

Choose whatever color you want your interface/background to be under “Color Theme” and click "OK".

For Illustrator

Open your AICC, go to Edit ---> Preferences ---> and click on "User Interface".
A window will pop up.

Choose whatever color you want your interface/background to be under “Brightness” by using the drop down arrow and selecting your preference and click "OK" .

In AI you can use the brightness slider bar and customize the level if you do not like the options given.

Have a super fantabulous day!
